Adaptive Fishing Equipment
Almost every sport or outdoor activity can be adapted so people with disabilities can participate. Using special equipment, access to outdoor activities can be made available to all.
For instance, fishing is an activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ability levels with just a few tweaks. Everything from adaptive motorized rods, to machines that cast your reel at the press of a button, anyone can enjoy this fun, relaxing sport.
The spectrum of equipment available for adaptive fishing is very wide. If you don’t need a motorized rod, for example, there are also less technical pieces of equipment. Items like rod holders for your wheelchair, tools that help you grip the rod better, and harnesses if you have limited use of your hands.
With a few minor adaptations, just about anyone can enjoy the sport of fishing.
