WENDY SULLIVAN

Wendy’s daughter, Kelsey, suffered a stroke the week before she was born which resulted in left hemiparesis, a common form of Cerebral Palsy. After attending a Reaching for the Stars educational symposium in Atlanta in 2006, Wendy began to volunteer with RFTS and became an  Executive Board Member in 2011. Since then, Wendy has made several trips to Washington DC advocating for Cerebral Palsy research and has worked with the NIH and CDC to improve outcomes for patients. One of her major accomplishments has been in helping to secure Congressional Appropriations report language urging specific Cerebral Palsy initiatives at the NIH and CDC. Currently, Wendy serves as the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) Chair of the Community Council and is an ex-officio member of the AACPDM Board of Directors. The AACPDM Community Council serves as a liaison between parents, caregivers, patients and other stakeholders and medical providers.

Additionally, Wendy is in Talent Acquisition for Arbor Pharmaceuticals. She is responsible for hiring talent for their Neuroscience, Cardiovascular, Pediatric, and Hospital divisions. Preceding that, Wendy held various positions with Eli Lilly & Company, in their Neuroscience, Gastroenterology, and Diabetes divisions.  She also was involved in coordinating Phase III Clinical Trials and grant proposals with Universities and various medical Institutions.

Wendy graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Business Administration. She also pursued graduate work in Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Washington. She resides in the Atlanta area with her husband and two children, Kelsey and Christopher.
